I built this Japan Travel Planner for travelers who like having the important parts of a trip in one place.
When you plan a trip to Japan, it is easy to end up with notes in different apps, booking confirmations in your email, restaurant ideas in Google Maps, and a rough itinerary somewhere else. This spreadsheet gives you one simple place to organize the trip before you leave.

What’s Included
The planner is a Google Sheets file with tabs for:
- Trip setup: add your travel dates, base currency, travelers, expense categories, and payment methods.
- Travel overview: see your main trip details, budget summary, upcoming essentials, and planned activities in one place.
- Travel research: compare destinations, flights, accommodation, and transport options while you are still building the trip.
- Travel budget: plan your budget, track actual costs, see what you have saved or overspent, and use a quick yen converter.
- Daily planner: plan each day of your Japan trip with space for meals, activities, hotel notes, and extra details.
- Things to do: keep restaurants, activities, museums, shops, bookings, and map links in one simple list.
- To-do list: track what you need to do before the trip.
- Packing list: organize what to pack for Japan, including travel essentials and Japan-specific items.
- Instructions: see how to copy and start using the planner.
Who This Planner Is For
This planner is useful if you want to plan your Japan trip in a more organized way, but you do not want a complicated system.
It works especially well if you are planning a first trip to Japan, a multi-city itinerary, or a trip where you want to keep an eye on bookings, transport, budget, and daily plans without jumping between too many apps.
How It Works
After checkout, you will receive access to the Google Sheet.
Open the file, make a copy to your own Google Drive, and then you can edit your own version of the planner.
You will need a free Google account to use it. The planner is made for Google Sheets, so I do not recommend using it in Excel.
